After struggling for 5 hours trying to get two different Netgear routers to work only to find out that Netgear was blocking my devices until I paid them big bucks for some bogus security service subscription, and realizing, because of that, the new stand alone modem I got was now useless too…I decided to just go “all in one.”I studied Cox’ list of accepted devices and this little beauty by Arris seemed to check all the boxes. I’ve always had great luck with Arris Surfboard products, and this combo router/modem is no exception. Super simple to set up with the quick start and QR codes. They even include ALL of the numbers/passwords/codes you might ever need to make things work right inside your little quick start booklet! So when I got Cox on a chat, I just told them all the numbers, they swapped out my new combo device for my old modem, bingo bango, I’m back in business! No glitches, no issues, no useless subscriptions, just powerful speeds and super fast connectivity. Little bonus? The lights are a soft green and very easy on the eyes, even at night. As to cost, the two-device method would have been $150, versus this one and done unit at $80. Your mileage may vary, but I’m very pleased with my decision and purchase. Happy shopping, all!

I was skeptical to purchase this because of the reviews but I’m glad I did. It work for Xfinity! So if you’re looking for a WiFi modem & router, I highly recommend this! The setup was pretty good! There’s also a YouTube video that was recently posted to help with the setup. There was a little mishap for the website setup but looking at Reddit helped. Overall, satisfied with this product!

Okay folks, I reordered this item since the first one was a DUD (see original post below) and, to be fair, I’m giving a revised review since, once I got it working, it’s great! Easy to set up and having a gateway vs a modem and router is much easier. It was also a GREAT feeling to take an armload of equipment back to Cox Cable and save almost $100/mo on tv. We are using the gateway to stream our TV services through Hulu/YouTube TV (still deciding) which to keep. This gateway runs 4 streams seamlessly. Two HD tv’s and two smart phones. No buffering, no blackouts, no delays. I would, at this point, revise to 4 stars (only reason I don’t go 5 is because the “quick start” instructions are written in a confusing manner regarding what order to hook up and what order to contact your cable provider. That chewed up some time on the phone with both Arris and Cox, but once connected, no issues.Original Review: Mine did not even power on! Arris customer service tech spent an hour running me through hoops because he thought I meant it would not “connect” rather than power on. I finally asked AGAIN if this (spanish/indian) rep understood that it had no POWER? Response?….”oh”. Very disappointed. Would not recommend.
